Technique: Hand painted acrylic directly on the wall
Date: April 2008
Location: Headington, Oxford,
Duration: 4 days
Size: 2m / 1,2m
Relatively quick job and a very good result specially for those who know the story and the characters involved, in the case of murals with specific theme.
WITCH KING mural
This is the last of a series of about 11 separate murals I've done in Headington Shops in Oxford. After the Lord of the Rings mural I couldn't stop and I found a small wall in the corner where I could do something else wink emoticon. It was a fairly quick job and it came out quite nice. I love working on black (dark) background and play with the light reflecting from different objects. It is close to the "clear-obscure" technique used in the post renaissance period. Hope this won't be the last LoThR mural I've ever made, specially now when Hobbit came out wink emoticon. When it comes to movie themed or cartoons for children I can only reproduce, to the last detail, my contribution would not thematically but technically and here is where I add my own thing to something which is already made.
